MISSION GIVING

The PCC allocates 8% of your regular giving (loose cash, envelopes and Standing Orders) to Mission and Charity work at both local and international level.

The Missions Committee does insist that recipients meet certain criteria before a donation is made and that each organisation allows us to fulfil our Mission Statement:

‘God works through us and it is our privilege to work for Him in this part of our town and beyond.’

For the year ending December 2010 an allocation of £140 has been made to each of the following:

Cheltenham Open Door, MacMillan Nurses, County Community Project, Listening Post Christian Counselling, Medecin Sans Frontieres, UNICEF, United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, Mission to Seafarers, Jerusalem and the Middle East Association, The Melanesian Mission, Rapid Response UK,

making a total disbursement of £1,680.

In addition special collections for one–off appeals including Water Aid raised £714.49 and we also contributed from general funds towards the Youth Work in the South Cheltenham Churches Mission Area.

The Missions Committee thanks everyone for their generous support.

The Missions Committee has received most appreciative letters of thanks from our supported Mission Societies and these are passed on to you, in thanks, on the notice board at the back of church.
